Henna oil is produced from leaves and flowering tops of henna tree or lawsonia inermis tree. Plant is small shrub that grows up to 2- 2.5 meters. This shrub is glabrous, multi- branched with spine tipped branchlets. Its leaves are opposite, sub- sessile, elliptical, and usually lanceolate. They have pressed veins on dorsal surface. Henna tree bears flowers that grow in calyx tube with spread lobes. Flowers petal may be white or red. These flowers are followed by henna fruits that are small, brownish capsules that are basically seed pods and enclose in them 32- 49 seeds per pod.
