The In-Motion Scale uses a fully welded steel structure contained within a single framework. This rugged platform is supported by four DESB-DBA Series Load Cells to weigh each axle end of a vehicle as it travels across the scale. The weighing platform is approximately 3000mm in width and 750mm in length and is constructed of smooth finish HT grade steel plate. The welded steel structure is designed with performance and longevity in mind.The extremely stiff and rigid weighbridge, coupled with four 20,000 kg capacity load cells, results in a higher resonant frequency allowing more efficient filtering of spurious weight signals.

The MS 222 is of an exceptionally robust design based upon the Drive-Through concept. Its high strength is provided by a one piece fully welded structure featuring two heavy duty profile, rolled steel longitudinal side beams with lateral cross members placed at 750mm centres. For users with particularly high volumes of vehicles with higher than normal axle loads, a heavy duty version is available. As with all weighbridges within the Sheering range, the weighbridge platform is constructed using 12.5mm on the plain [15mm over pattern] thick Durbar chequered steel plates.   The platform plate seams are all continuously welded and the surface treatment [CPS] consists of a special high corrosion-resistant surface coating system. The weight of the steel deck framework used to retain the ready mixed concrete is less than the equivalent full steel weighbridge and therefore the Concrete CC structure is relatively easy to manoeuvre into position, without the need for heavy duty cranes. This steel frame (complete with reinforcing) is installed on site with dummy load cells and then in-filled with ready-mixed concrete. When this has cured, the stainless steel fully weld-sealed Double Ended Shear Beam (DESB) load cells are fitted in place of the dummies and the system calibrated. Such ‘pour on site’ installations reduce the overall transportation carbon footprint and on site craneage requirements. The non-slip finish provides an excellent skid resistant surface.
