Started in 1984 at Talaricheruvu village in the Tadipatri Mandal of Anantapur District Penna soon became a household name for quality cement. We chose Tadipatri mandal for the plant as the Tadipatri belt is home to the country's richest lime stone reserves. This helped us access to some of the finest quality limestone and ensured that the cement produced is of "THE BEST" quality. To cater the growing demand, we soon expanded our production to 1.7 Million Ton per Annum by Installing Vertical Roller Mill supplied by M/s. UBE, Japan for grinding slag and clinker separately. The next step was the inception of One Million Ton Plant at Ganeshpahad Village, Damarcherla Mandal of Nalgonda District to cater the Coastal and Telangana Regions of Andhra Pradesh, and the states of Orissa, Tamilnadu and Chattisgarh. The plant also has close proximity to ports of Kakinada and Visakhapatnam for export of cement. The Ganeshpahad plant is incorporated with latest Hi-tech dry process technology with rotary Kiln and a latest six stage pre-heater Technology with low pressure drop cyclones and a pre-calcinator of the latest design provided by M/S. ONODA, Japan, and the world leaders in cement production technology. The pre-heater technology promotes superior heat recovery and increased calcinations. In line with latest developments in technology of cement production, Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) from UBE, Japan has been installed for the combined operation of drying and grinding. Cement grinding in VRM is the latest technology in cement manufacturing. Cement produced from our VRM has an optimum Particle Size Distribution, which results in superior quality. Another salient feature of the Plant is the adoption of the 'separate grinding and blending of clinker and slag', providing flexibility in operations and "customized" product specifications. The mixing of ground clinker slag is accomplished in Twin Shaft Blender, with latest Technology. To ensure that each packed bag contains the exact specified quantity of finished product, the latest generation packers supplied by EEL in collaboration with Haver and Boecker of Germany, have been installed. The Bulk loading facility is also available at the plant. The plant is in close proximity to the cities of Chennai and Bangalore, particularly to the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala thus ensuring easy import of raw materials and export of cement. Two Eight spout 120 TPH rotary electronic packers ensure that each bag contains the correct weight, assuring consistency, homogeneity, and uniformity of our products. Orient Cement was formerly, a part of Orient Paper & Industries. It was demerged in the year 2012, since then it has witnessed a six fold increase in the market capitalization in a very short period. Orient Cement’s plant situated at Devapur in Adilabad District, Telangana (which is a Greenfield project), began cement production in the year 1982. In 1997, a split-grinding unit (also a Greenfield project) at Nashirabad in Jalgaon, Maharashtra was added. In 2015, Orient Cement started its commercial production at its Greenfield integrated cement plant located at Chittapur, Gulbarga, Karnataka. With a total capacity of 8 MTPA, and ambitious expansion plan, Orient Cement is aspiring to reach 15 MPTA by 2020.
