Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
Blast Furnace Slag
We are a well renowned name for manufacturing excellent grade of Blast Furnace Slag like ground granulated blast furnace slag. Our blast furnace slag has been largely used in number of industries for the sole purpose of construction. Our ground granulated blast furnace slag is obtained by quenching molten iron blast furnace slag in water or stream. This is a glassy granular product which is then dried and grind into a fine powder. Our ground granulated blast furnace slag is used to make durable concrete structures in combination with ordinary Portland cement.About GGBS: GGBS is a fine white powder that is used in concrete as cement. In the production of ready mix concrete GGBS replaces a substantial portion of the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) content. This substitution can be in the range of 50-70 % depending on quality of materials used. Higher the proportion, the better is the durability. GGBS is also used in other forms of concrete including site- batched & precast. Lower Cost of Concrete This high quality slag saves in cost of mortar and concrete, a real value for money. GGBS concrete has lower life cycle cost, in addition to lower cost of construction. Superior Quality of Construction Slag provides better strength over longer periods in addition to enhanced durability of concrete. It is best suited for mass concrete due to lower heat of hydration and prevention of microcracks. In blended cements it exhibits high sulphate and chloride resistance. It is also known to combat Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) detrimental to concrete. Better Finish and Look of Structure High fineness, good cohesive paste and smooth spread give excellent finish to mortar & concrete and improve the aesthetics of finished structure. Concrete shows no efflorescence and exhibits good pleasing colour. Improved Workability Excellent void filling and coverage give good workability and placement of concrete. It is pumpable and does not bleed. It is easy to vibrate and compact the concrete. Enironmental Impact Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) replacement in mortar and concrete is a direct means to reduce overall Green House Gas emissions in construction activity. Carbon dioxide emission to the environment and hence air pollution is lowered. Sustainable Development Recycling of large volumes of a by-product, considerable saving in the use of fossil fuels and hence conservation of energy and mineral resources for the construction industry lead to sustainable development
