Charge input from solar arrays sometimes is insufficient to keep the batteries fully charged. During sun-less days, batteries are discharged but not charged. These conditions result in battery operating in Partial State of Charge (PSOC), Cycling and Deep-cycling. Also, solar systems are installed in open atmosphere exposing the batteries to extreme temperatures. Other lead acid batteries fail in such conditions due to sulphation, stratification, corrosion and plate shedding. Moreover, remote solar installations make water top-up difficult and costs money. To meet such rigors of usage HBL introduces a maintenance free (no water top-up) Tubular Gel VRLA battery with unbeatable combination of Tubular plate and gelled electrolyte, which is a perfect fit for all solar applications.

HBL has developed the design and manufacturing technology for a wide range of submarine batteries. The product superiority comes from a fully equipped modern facility that has machines for Pressure die casting of low antimony tubular spines, forming and plating copper stretch metal, Resin transfer moulding of high shock resistant fiber glass containers and a fully automated cell test facility. The positive tubular plate electrode is made by pressure die-casting using a low-antimony lead alloy. The cell cover is made of high quality Glass-fiber Reinforced plastic (GRP). It is resistant to dilute sulfuric acid and is designed for demanding standards of shock resistance.

Our Power Saver is an integrated system that is equipped with microcontroller based regulator to monitor voltage, current, power factor and, current threshold. It introduces low-loss impedance path between the source and the load that causes maximum power transfer in the path results in substantial power saving of power consumption up to 30%.

The Data Logging equipment can monitor up to 4096 digital inputs and 96 analog inputs per railway yard. Up to 32 systems can be networked with each other and data can be made available for monitoring at a Central Location.

Nickel cadmium Fibre PNE are constructed using Fibre positive and Pasted negative electrodes. The pasted negative electrode are designed with high power density and has less water consumption, thus reduces the periodicity of topping-up the cells with DI water.

Float Cum Boost Charger (FCBC) as the name indicates, is a two-in-one functional combination of a float charger and a Boost charger. Under normal condition FCBC works as a float Charger. When the mains fail, battery takes over supply to the load. On resumption of power, FCBC switches to the “Boost Mode,” Boost charges the discharged battery and returns to the “Float Mode”, after the battery is restored to full charge. All along, it supplies uninterrupted DC power to the load.
