This project is aimed to design a generalized identity system for student ID and bus pass instead of two different cards, using RFID technology. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Card Readers provide a low-cost solution to read passive RFID transponder tags up to 2 inches away. The RFID Card Readers can be used in a wide variety of hobbyist and commercial applications, including access control, automatic identification, robotics navigation, inventory tracking, payment systems, and car immobilization. The RFID card reader read the RFID tag in range and outputs unique identification code of the tag at baud rate of 9600. The data from RFID reader can be interfaced to be read by microcontroller or PC. The significant advantage of all types of RFID systems is the non contact, non-line-of-sight nature of the technology. Tags can be read through a variety of substances such as snow, fog, ice, paint, crusted grime, and other visually and environmentally challenging conditions, where barcodes or other optically read technologies would be useless. This project can provide security for the industries, companies, etc. This project is designed on 8051 micro controller, in this project we issue an RFID card to each individual , which is unique for each student, this RFID card holds the details of the student like the name , gender etc.. in an electronic memory format, using this system we can eliminate the fake bus pass, and student ID when the card is shown to the reader the information present in the card is read by the reader and displayed in to the LCD connected to the microcontroller. This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA & 12V, 500mA power supply. 7805 and 7812 three terminal voltage regulators are used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
