99.5% Alumina products have excellent Wear Resistance & Corrosion Resistance properties. Since high purity Alumina bodies are almost inert to chemical attack as also being very hard (9 on Mohr Scale) it can be used for a wide variety of applications where combinations of properties are required Wear and Acid Resistance - acid pumps. Induction furnaces are used extensively for heating of rods billets for forging application. Typical furnace construction consists of metallic rods passing through the core of spiral induction coil housed in refractory castable.
