Wear Studs are widely used in the Earth-moving and Mining Industries. They are essentially small hardened metal buttons, installed in close formation to form a dense pattern and a barrier between the product being moved and the base material. Used successfully in reducing wear on buckets, loaders, crushers, tipper trays, or any surface subject to high abrasion from dirt, rock and ore. Wear studs are used in some of the worst wear situations imaginable, they can extend wear life between 3 and 10 times that of traditional 'quench and tempered plate' or 'hard facing'. Of course wear life is dependent on particle type, hardness, size and many other factors.

Punching Shear Resistant Studs or PSR Studs are a reinforcing studs welding to rails, and used around columns on traditional formwork constructed buildings. They are used to reduce the likelihood of Punching Shear forces, or the desire for the column to punch its way thru the slab due to the floor loading. Punching Shear Resistant Studs can reduce the need for heavy reinforcing bars around these high stress areas, and can remove the need for a 'Capital' altogether. (A capital is a large usually square, section of thickened floor around the column.

Guyed towers/masts provides given towers/masts height at lower material cost than self-supporting towers due to the efficient use of high strength steel wire rope support. Guyed towers/masts are in square or triangular cross section and angular or tubular sections are used for construction.   Guyed masts are normally guyed in three directions for triangular cross sectional towers and in four directions for square cross sectional towers.   Triangular cross sectional towers/masts are used for minimize icing load on towers/masts, where icing is very heavy. These guyed towers/masts are much lighter than self-supporting type towers, but need a large free space to anchor guy wires. So guyed towers/masts are preferred where large open space is available.   These towers were find application in communication and Meteorological fields.
