Dielectric constants has never been so easy. Simplyinsert the probe in the liquid to be measured, adjust the two controls on the front panel and read the dielectric constant from the display. The BI-870 can accurately measure in low and high dielectric solvents, including mixtures. While literature values of dielectric constants aresuitable when using pure liquids, for mixtures of liquids, values are not readily available. Also no simple equation describes mixtures using pure component values. Good zeta potential determinations of suspended colloidal particles depend on the accuracy of the dielectric constant of the liquid. Depending on the particle of interest, a number of different liquids may be used, including mixtures of various proportions creating the need for an accurate measurement of dielectric constant.

Chloride Test Kit Small amount of sample is collected in a test tube and an indicator reagent is added to the sample. Use the dropper bottle, the titrant, until the color changes. To calculate the concentration just multiply the number of drops required by the titrant by a simple factor given in the test kit manual. The sample is titrated with Silver Nitrate Standard Solution in the presence of Potassium Chromate. The Silver Nitrate reacts with Chloride present to produce insoluble White Silver Chloride. After all the Chloride has been precipitated the Silver ions react with the excess Chromate present to form a red brown Silver Chromate precipitate, marking the end point of titration.
