RADIATION SURVEY METER (micro) Type : RM701N is a G.M. Detector based, battery powered, hand-held, ruggedized general purpose Radiation Survey Meter. This will be useful for dose rate measurements in Nuclear installations, Radiochemical plants, Reprocessing plants, etc. Additionally it will be useful in medical, agricultural, industrial and other installations where radioactive isotopes are used for a variety of applications. This product is designed around a Micro-controller Chip. It is provided with alpha Numeric LCD display for indicating the doserate in digits, cumulative dose in digits. It covers wide range from 0 to 10R/hr in two range with auto ranging. This unit has a facility for storing the data into built-in E2PROM along with real time. The stored data can be recalled on to the display or transmitted to PC through USB port.

This essentially consists of a 2” x 2” NaI Integral detector, with PMT HV bleeder wired & enclosed in a cylindrical shell with appropriate connector brought out for applying HV bias to PMT & also for taking signal output to the Radiation Counting System. This probe with NaI crystal facing downwards is placed in a sample holder having slotted arrangement for placing sample tray. Samples either filter paper deposited air activity sample or in a SS planchet can be kept for gross gamma activity counting. This Radiation counting system cannot be used for selection of a specific energy band. For applications requiring counting for a specific energy band one has to opt for Gamma ray spectrometer.
