The capicity of Rotor Controller is 15HP to 1000 HP. We have applied Closed Circuit Technology in all our stator-rotor controllers for the safe and smooth operation of Slip-Ring Induction Motors. Our controllers are built as per IEC/NEMA standards meeting the provisions of the National Electric Safety Code. Stator Rotor Controllers / Rotor Controllers are extensively being used to replace existing manually operated wound rotor starters and liquid rotor starters. The resistances are basically designed to provide high initial starting torque with low inrush current from mains in applications like high inertia / high frictional loads and during run-up are bypassed through contactors by timers to short out final rotor contactor until full speed is attained. The rotor controller provides smooth acceleration to full speed and thus reduces electrical and mechanical stresses in the motor and drive. The resistances incorporated in our rotor controllers are designed in such a manner that they provide a very long term service with zero maintenance. Motor is connected in delta from the start. Auto transformer provides voltage to the motor at start. Appropriate lower voltage tapping –customized as per the application – is provided to the motor. After the motor has attained significant torque changeover from auto transformer to on line takes place. The changeover is “closed transition” i.e. During changeover the auto transformer acts as a choke supplying voltage to motor – hence smooth or stepless or soft starting takes place. The motor then runs on line current. The transformer is isolated from both the ends to protect the contactors. Adjustable high torque: a high torque (up to 64%) possible and can be customized by voltage tapings. No power quality issues: all standards electrical components ensure that there are no harmonics or other power quality issues. Transient elimination: korndorfer closed transition technology ensures that transients are eliminated. Motor protection: motor is connected in delta at the time of starting to avoid high inrush current in the motor winding thus providing lesser heat generation.
