This throw is entirely handmade with vintage cotton fabric by indian village women & has the delicate kantha stitch on both sides which gives it a warm & rustic touch. "kantha work" is a family skill (an embroidery) passed on from mother to daughter, originating from the north eastern states in india, wherein old saris, dhotis & old cloth pieces are stitched together using the running stitch to make light weight quilts or throws. Thus each piece is totally unique & this embroidery renders a slightly crinkled or wavy effect to the original patchwork of materials.
