Hand knotted rugs are playing most important role in the world of carpeting. The knots are tied by experienced weavers to create a mesmerizing effect by the intricate patterns. The hand knotted rugs are created by tying horizontal knots on the vertical threads of the loom. Generally there are two main types of knots in practice; The PersianSenneh knot & the Turkish Ghiodes knot.The Persian knot is crafted in a way that it has less of a gap, and this makes the pile thinner. The Turkish knot is crafted using double knots on the back side, and this makes the gap in the front bigger causing the pile of a Turkish rug to be much thicker and bulky. The Persian knot is more commonly used in our country & the rest of the Oriental region.
