Soybean meal also known as Soybean Oil Cake is a solid residue bi-product, flour, created after grinding the soyabean to extract soybean oil. It is widely used as a filler and source of protein in animal diets, including pig, chicken, cattle, horse, sheep and fish feed. It accounts for 65% of the world's total feed. Rapeseed meal processing of rapeseed for oil production provides rapeseed animal meal as a by-product. The by-product is a high-protein animal feed, mostly employed for cattle feeding, but also for pigs and chickens . Rapeseed “oil cake” is also used as a fertilizer in China. Guar meal During the split manufacturing process of Guar, husk and germ are obtained. Both this are used as a valuable cattle feed (called Guar Meal) as they are quite rich in protein (~50% protein). It has contents of "Oil & Albuminoids" (O&A) which are about 50% in germ whereas it is about 25% in husks. It improves digesting system of cows or buffaloes, gives extra fat in their milk and also increases the quantity of milk.
