Silicon Ingot
Silicon brass are part of the subgroup of high strength brasses. These materials contain less than 20% zinc and less than 6% silicon. The silicon brasses are solid solution strengthened. These silicon brasses are typically chosen because of their high strength and moderately high corrosion resistance. The conductivity of the silicon brasses is much less than that of unalloyed copper. The silicon red brasses are used for valve stems where corrosion and high strength are critical. The wrought silicon red brasses are designated as UNS C69400 through C69710. Included in this category are the silicon red bronzes. These alloys are similar to the silicon red brasses except they contain very low concentrations of zinc. The silicon red bronze alloys are designated UNS C47000 through C66100. The cast silicon red brasses are C87300 to C87900. Silicon brass castings exhibit moderate strength and very good aqueous and atmospheric corrosion resistance. They are used in applications such as bearings, gears, and intricately shaped pump and valve components.

Silicon bronze is a low-lead brass alloy that is generally composed of 96 percent copper. The remainder can be made from silicon and a variety of other alloys such as manganese, tin, iron, or zinc. Silicon Bronze is known for its easy pouring ability, appealing surface finish and superior corrosion resistant properties, even when submerged in liquids and chemicals. Silicon Bronze was originally developed for the chemical industry but later expanded due to its good casting characteristics. Silicon Bronze is used for wires (telephone and telegraph), bearings, valves, castings, and construction equipment.

CW721R / CZ114 is a high tensile brass consisting of a duplex structure. Developed for more exacting applications where strength and corrosion resistance are required. Also referred to as a manganese bronze the CW721R / CZ114 has additions of aluminium, iron, tin and manganese that are added to the basic 60/40 brass matrix, creating a variety of properties to benefit the designer. The aluminium and tin content gives the CW721R / CZ114 a brighter finish and is the main reason for the increase in corrosion resistance. The iron and manganese additions also improve the strength level, with the iron also acting a grain refiner. Some of the other benefits of the CW721R / CZ114 grade are a very good hot working capacity to allow for hot stamping and a good machinability rating.

Gunmetal, also known as red brass is a type of Bronze – an alloy of Copper, Lead, Tin and Zinc along with specified percentage of Nickel. The principal uses of this alloy are for valve bodies, pump bodies, elbows, pipes, taps and cocks and other hydraulic fittings where pressure tight properties are important. Its corrosion resistance properties rate fairly high and it also finds application in low-stressed bearings and moving parts.

Aluminium bronze is a type of bronze in which aluminium is the main alloying metal added to copper, in contrast to standard bronze (copper and tin) or brass (copper and zinc) . A variety of aluminium bronzes of differing compositions have found industrial use, with most ranging from 5% to 11% aluminium by weight, the remaining mass being copper; other alloying agents such as iron, nickel, manganese, and silicon are also sometimes added to aluminium bronzes. Aluminium bronzes are most commonly used in applications where their resistance to corrosion makes them preferable to other engineering materials. These applications include plain bearings and landing gear components on aircraft, Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze strings, engine components (especially for seagoing ships), underwater fastenings in naval architecture, and ship propellers.

Brass Solid Rods
Apart from the good machinability, corrosion resistance and higher strength properties, brass rods have other added benefits over Stainless steel and Aluminum. Some close tolerance components like cable glands can be as much as 33% cheaper than Aluminum or Stainless Steel. The swarf resulting from the machining of Brass rods will give fine small chips which are easier to clean and it reduces machine tool wear and use of lubrication whereas aluminum gives a constant build up of swarf when machining resulting in faster tool wear. Stainless steel components can be two to five times more expensive than identical items made in brass. Brass Solid rods are an excellent replacement for plastic tap tops which are constantly susceptible to stress cracking and failure. The ease with which brass can be hot stamped, polished and plated means that modern designs of brass tap tops are available with lifetime expectancy equal to that of the tap. Adinath produces Brass Extruded Rods in solid forms and in various shapes like Round, Hex and Squares which are available to suit a wide variety of engineering applications. These bars are available in straight lengths ranging from 4 mm to 75mm Diameter.
