Vetiver cultivated oil is native to South Asia, Indonesia and Sri lanka. Its extraction method is steam distillation . Vetiver cultivated is used root as a plant part. Vetiver cultivated is related to “Poaceae” plant family. Vetiver is a tall (1.5-2.0 m) perennial grass. Its root grows 20-30 cm deep. Its leaves are linear, narrow, grassy, keeled with glabrous joint scabrid margins and grows up to 15-45 cm long . Vetiver oil is used in perfumery, cosmetics and soaps and for flavouring sherbets.
