Basically manganese and iron is used in the production of Ferro Manganese alloy. Carbon, in the form of coke and coal is heated with a mixture of Ferrous oxide and Manganese oxide to produce the alloy. The level of silicon is lowered so as to use it in various kinds of steel products. Both in flat-steel products and in stainless steel, Ferro Manganese is used extensively.
