The famous Maheshwari business family “Bangur” hails from Didwana a town near Nagaur district of Rajasthan in India. The Bangurs are a large Kolkata based industrial house founded by stock broker Mugni Ram Bangur along with brother Ram Coowar Bangur.
In the 1950s and 1960s, they were among the top 10 business houses in India, with sprawling interests in jute mills, tea gardens, textiles, cement, paper, cables, graphite , Finance and real estate etc.
