Roll Texturing Plants : The old technology of shot blasting the work rolls of Skin Pass Mill in steel plants is replaced with the modern technology of electro discharge texturing of rolls. Sunag Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Ms. Sarclad, UK have installed and commissioned such plants at Tata Steel, JSW, Toranagallu and Bokaro Steel plant. Sunag Engineering Pvt. Ltd. also manufactures and supplies the proprietary consumable electrodes to these plants.

For production of hot metal, the unit has installed a blast furnace. In the blast furnace, the burden of iron ore and coke is reduced into hot metal. Coke is used both as reductant and fuel. To maintain heat in the furnace a stove has been set up. A blast furnace of 262 Cu M has also been set up. The production per Cu M is 2.40 tons per day. Considering 340 working days per annum, the installed capacity of the plant is 214,000 TPA. The hot metal produced shall be transferred to Electric Arc Furnace for primary refining or cast in pig casting machine.

These burners uses every square inch of available tube surface for heat transfer. It avoids hot spots and burnout.

The Ladle Refining de-sulphurises the steel and maintains the temperature of the steel after the additions of the ferro-alloys. This process is essential for the production of alloy and specialty steels. The steel is processed with extreme care of the slag making. This is the basis of good alloy recovery, De-oxidation , clean steel, proper temperature for the next in process etc.
