Today it has a strong client base that includes names like thyssen-krupp, riva, tata-corus, voest et al.

Noticed that though india herself is a mineral rich country, the projected growth that this country is poised for in the core sectors will soon lead to a deficiency in terms of the essential raw materials, thus resulting in a lot of potential for imported commodities sourced globally to do business with the indian steel & allied industries.
And thus began the journey of ipm commodities private limited, the indian arm of italiana prodotti minerali s.r.l., in early 2010, with an objective to provide complete solutions in terms of raw materials to the steel and associated industries in india. In april 2010, this indian company was incorporated with its base in kolkata. It started its business with ores and other commodities to cater a wide range of raw materials to the steel and allied industries in the indian market.
In early 2016, the shares of ipm commodities pvt. Ltd. Earlier held by italiana prodotti minerali s.r.l were taken over by minmet s.a.m., a new organisation formed in monaco. Accordingly, ipm commodities became the indian arm of minmet s.a.m. To carry out the same type of business.
The core business of our company is to act as an exclusive agent in the indian market, for the products of ore & metal (www.assore.co.za), the marketing arm of the south african mining giant assmang group (www.assmang.co.za ). Since incorporation, our initial focus had been manganese ore, for which we have established more than 20% market share in india. However, we have expanded our activity not only to a more complete portfolio of ore & metal products (including import of iron ore), but also to other commodity solutions for the steel and related industries. In the process, we have direct and close associations with a large number of ferroalloy manufacturers, sponge iron plants and producers of steel in india & the middle east .
