    KT-20 is an efficient and high performance media for the reduction of dissolved iron and manganese compounds from raw water supplies. It may be used in either gravity feed or pressurized water treatment systems. TM KT-20 filter media acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and the iron compounds. In ground waters the dissolved iron is usually in the ferrous bicarbonate state due to TM the excess of free carbon dioxide and is not filterable. KT-20 , acting as a catalyst between the oxygen and the soluble iron compounds, enhances the oxidation reaction of Fe++ to Fe+++ and produces ferric hydroxide which precipitates and may be easily filtered. Greensand KT is a black filter media used for removing soluble iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, arsenic, and radium from water supplies. The manganese dioxide coated surface of Greensand KT acts as a catalyst in the oxidation reduction reaction of iron and manganese. Systems may be designed using either vertical or horizontal pressure filters, as well as open gravity filters.
