3 Hi / 2 Hi mill stands are of steel / cast iron machined accurately and fitted with linear pads of high grade steel to prevent the housing from wear & tear.  The mill Sit tighter on the Bed plate after proper spacing along with rest bars.  Roll bearing Chocks are cast out of steel to match with the mill housing window The chocks are fitted with fiber bearing or roller bearing as required.  Top roll setting is through screwdown and turn style balancing spring. Bottom roll setting is through adjustable taper wedge arrangement operated by screw & nut through turnstyle.

The stand design incorporates many features and vital for the best operation and production of quality rod. The roll roll holder is of a design which allows the carbide rolls to be mounted on the holders, without introduction of hoop stresses into the carbide, with a consequential reduction in the incidence of roll breakages. This design together with the very high roll pass life, has established installations with greater roll life. This of course has noticeable effects on the mill availability times and hence on production figures.
