These types of pumps are of compact design and steadily built so that they are unaffected by unskilled handling in frequent transportation from one place to another, and continuous operation in dust laden, highly humid atmosphere present in the mines.   Some of the special features of these pumps are : Hydraulic balancing of the axial thrust is achieved by rotating and stationary balancing disc device. Oil lubricated bush bearings on the both side are provided. The bush bearings are of bronze or special Babbitt metal. Water cooling arrangement is provided.
