The testing in a soil bin test setup can be carried out by two to three persons as the operations for trolley movement and rotavator movement are all controlled from centrally located control panel. One can easily set up the experiment and record the data from centrally located Data Acquisition System and Computer placed near to the control panel. 

The Soil Bin Test Setup has hydraulic cylinders for height adjustment of soil processing tools i.e. rotavator, leveler & roller and for the implements testing arrangement using EORT, Cone Penetromenter etc. There is hydraulic power pack and manual controls for operating the hydraulic setup.B

Cone Penetrometer with force and displacement sensor helps determine the compaction or hardness of soil at various depths.  The force is measured using a U9C Force sensor with a range of 5 kN and depth of the penetromenter is measured with displacement transducer having a range of 200 mm.
