The General purpose Belts , if comes in contact with any oily materials tends to swell because of the hydrocarbon content in the rubber and the oil adsorbs the same. The swelling of the rubber leads to reverse troughing of the belts. In order to avoid  the swelling of rubber , Oil resistant belts are manufactured with Nitrile rubber which has got the special characteristics of Oil Resistance.
