Sillimanite bricks, These bricks are manufactured by the sawdust process using selected grades of china clay and kyanite for hot face as well as back up applications. Particularly notable is the HFK brick, which is one of the most economical insulations in its classification temperature. The high alumina bricks comprise of a blend of alumina and ferrous content and their apparent porosity is 15 to 23%.
