Principles of operation By passing electricity through the Gouging Carbon electrodes, intensive heat is produced, which melts the metal with an electric arc, whether it is ferrous or non-ferrous.   This is high speed metal removal process, which produces high quality cuts at minimum cost. The gouging process can be utilized for high quality cutting, grooving, gouging or beveling any metal. The gouging process results in clean and controllable results and obviates the need for any further surface cleaning as the melting and cleaning is done simultaneously.
