In HT Aerial Bunched Cables the phase conductor consists of stranded circular compacted Aluminium conductor, conductor screened with extruded semicon compound, Insulated with cross linked polyethylene (XLPE), Insulation screened with extruded Semicon Compound followed by copper tape or plastic coated Aluminium tape, outer sheathed with PVC or black weather resistant polyethylene and three such phase conductor are twisted around bare stranded circular compacted Aluminium Alloy Messenger conductor which takes all the mechanical stress and also serve as the earth cum neutral conductor.

These conductors are formed by several wires of aluminium, stranded in concentric layers. All the wires have the same nominal diameter. Most common constructions consist of 7, 19, 3 7 and 61 wires.

Available in HOFR (Heat, Oil & Flame Retardant) Rubber with Maximum rated operating temperature of conductor is 90OC. Tensile strength of minimum 8.0 N/mm2 and minimum elongation at break point of 250%. TRS (Tough Rubber Sheathing) natural rubber with maximum rated operating temperature of conductor is 60OC. Tensile strength of 7.0N/mm2 and minimum elongation at break point of 300%.
