Technically Specified Rubber (T.S.R.) is used for making tyres, tubes, rubber mats and various other rubber products It was in the late 1960's that the rubber industry started to produce rubber with exactly known properties. Prior to this, rubber was produced in three forms - ECB, PLC & SHEET. However the actual properties and grade of these were determined visually and was susceptible to human error. It was felt that a new and standardised method was required to scientifically establish properties of various grades of latex and to ensure proper grading. Thus Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) grading was established. Presently, TSR grading helps the industry in manufacturing rubber that meets exact standards.
