Almarosa is a green grass, sharing similarities with lemongrass and citronella. It belongs to the family of poaceae. The name palmarosa™ was given to the plant because of its fragrance, which is similar to rose oil. Palmarosa oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the grass of cymbopogon martini . The oil is a pale yellow, free-flowing liquid that is sweet and floral, with a hint of the smell of rose. The main component of the oil is geraniol. The product is mainly used in fragrance applications.
