It is a labour intensive process and makes use of open mould producing parts with one side finish.     For manufacture of parts with Hand Lay-up process the mould is first applied with gel coat and then chopped strand glass mat or woven rovings or glass fabrics are laid with consistently mixed resin and curatives manually with the help of brush.
