Weld mesh is the term given to the kind of barrier fencing that is manufactured in square or rectangular mesh from steel wire, welded at each intersection. It is usually affixed to steel uprights. Weld mesh fence has an advantage over chain link fencing wire of not bending so easily and not being so easily cut. Anti Climb mesh (a version of weldmesh, also shown in the image above) is a high security weldmesh, with mesh aperture being smaller (typically: 75mm x 12.5mm). A-1 Fence has introduced a new window grilling solution tailored for Indian construction industry. One of the challenges all developers today face in India in regards to window grills is absence of a factory finished product which can give them adequate strength, longevity, pleasant aesthetics and most importantly tailored to the required sizes. In such a scenario, window grills have to be made of un-galvanized mild steel by welding on the site, on which cheap coating material is applied. This process is unable to prevent rusting which weakens the window grills in a few months, apart from resulting in very poor aesthetics. Also the product becomes labour intensive. Owing to the neat honeycomb structure this mesh makes, it called Honeycomb Fence®. The advantages this fence scores over a convention chain link is because of the number of time two adjoining wires are twisted with each other. Chain link fence is formed by two adjacent wires being linked together (by weaving), which results in formation of a rhombus (or ‘diamond’ as it is more commonly known), each end of an individual diamond has the adjoining wire crossing each otheronce. Thus, if the chain link is cut or breaks at any one point, the fence completely breaks down as the links release themselves of each other because of the weak weaving structure. To counter this disadvantage, A-1 Fence made a small change, and made the two adjoining wires twist with each other five times, and this results in a structure close to hexagon than a rhombus. These 5-twists result is strong woven structure, and even a few cuts to the fence fabric do not allow complete disintegration. The same property also lends more strength to the fence fabric even in a smaller wire diameter, thus, with less steel one gets a stronger structure.

Created from 4mm galvanized/zinc-alum wire, the finger proof mesh format is produced by electrical resistance welding at each intersection. The mesh opening of approximately 8mm x 70mm, makes it extremely difficult to penetrate using conventional hand tools presenting a higher delay factor greater than that of other fencing products. Anti-climb weld mesh system (also known as Prison Mesh fencing or 358 mesh fencing) is dominantly used in fencing systems designed to bring maximum perimeter protection to a site without impeding visibility (which is important for human patrolling or video surveillance). Anti-climb fence has been universally accepted as the most secure form of welded mesh panel, commercially available with significant inherent advantages over products such as chain link fencing or other forms of welded mesh fencing, owing to its unique configuration. Anti-climb mesh panel is made of galvanized steel wire (and can then be optionally polyester powder and/or Epoxy coated) in an aperture configuration of 76.2 mm x 12.7 mm. This means a clear opening between horizontal wires of less than 9 mm – inadequate to insert hand tools for cutting the mesh.
