Application : Outdoor

For applications mostly for monitoring of environmental parameters like ambient temperature, humidity, rain fall, wind direction etc. a data logger needs to be mounted in open and it has to be in a weather proof enclosure to avoid effect or sunlight and rain. In applications where environment is very harsh and is full of conductive dust eg metal fabrication, forge and mines; it is required data logger to be of weather proof type with IP65 or IP67 rated. In applications related to pollution monitoring or dust monitoring, the data logger has to be protected from gases and dust. Here again the requirement is for weather proof type of logger.

Two channel data logger is a variant of multichannel data logger with fixed type of two analog inputs. These inputs can be temperature as in thermocouple or RTD, mV, mA or any other such inputs from external sensors. It can also be difference in temperature. These loggers are usually available in panel mount type in small size of 96×96 mm DIN. User has various options for memory storage as well as retrieval. The IM2000 SMS Data Logger series provides HighLow alarm relay outputs.User can have common relay for all the channels or can have saperate relay for each channel. SMS Data Logger generates a text SMS message whenever the alarm condition is observed. User can receive periodic process updates as well through text messages. IM2506 model which comes with 6 digit display as compared to IM2501 Ampere Hour Meter which can show AH count upto 4 digits. RTD is the most commonly used sensors for measurement of temperature in various industries. These are positive temperature coefficient resistive sensors and Pt100 is the most widely used type of RTD sensor which provides 100Ω resistance at 0°C. IM2000 series RTD data loggers uses bridge measurement technique which takes care to compensate the effect of wire length; resulting high degree of accuracy. Also logger has facility to program offset so that the measurements are more accurate compansating sensor offset value.

The data can be viewed online on PC or can be copied to USB flash drive for viewing later. It can be connected to a centronics parallel printer for on line printing as well as offline printing.
