S.M.E. Mica Heaters are specifically designed for your Injection and Extrusion machines. These heaters are custom made with Nickle -Chromium Resistance wire wound on Premium quality of Mica. Standard sheath material is S.S.304; Other sheath material like Zinc Platted M.S. or Brass is also available.Band heaters may be supplied in one piece or two piece construction .The specially designed tightening clamp provides full and even closure for maximum heat transfer. A variety of Terminal type and location is possible to meet any installation need. Materials Of Construction • Outer Sheath - Polished S.S.304• Element - Resistance wire (Ni - 80 %, Cr-20%) • Termination - Metal Braided Fibre Glass wires• Insulation - Flexible Mill Board or Ceramic Fibre covered with Manufacturing Depending Upon The Volt and Wattage a suitable size of the resistance wire is selected as per the recommendation of the resistance wire manufacturer. This wire is wound on premium mica to form a coil. The coil is placed between the Mica sheets and is then enclosed in metal enclosure. The element wire is terminated on a brass strip from where the lead wires are taken out further. These strips are covered with a ventilated terminal box. The heater is provided with a clamping device, which has a Cap Screw for easy, and even tightening of the heater on the barrel. For Best Results Clamp securely the heater to the object to be heated and run the heater at operating temperature. Retighten the bolts to correct the expansion due to heating. This will result in better heat transfer and longer life of the heater. To Order Specify 1 .Inside diameter and width of the Heater 2.Voltage and Watts3.Position and dimensions of Cut outs and Thermocouple Holes 4.Terminal Box Position and Length of the Lead wire

Mica bands are made of an electrical resistance ribbon or wire, which is wound around a mica winding card and sandwiched between two sheets of mica, then wrapped in sheet metal. The resistance wire or ribbon that converts electrical energy to thermal energy is normally a nickel-chromium alloy of either 80% nickel which is useful to 1100°C or 60% nickel which is useful to 950°c. The mica is, most often, one of three types: muscovite, useful to 500°c, phlogopyte, useful to 750°c, and synthetic mica, useful to 900°c. The sheet metal is normally either mild steel, stainless steel, brass, GI depending on the temp and the product to be heated. The maximum temp for mica band heater is 400°c. Features Designed as per customer specifications Variety of termination options Available in one or two piece construction Temp upto 400 deg C S.S. braided termination Metal covering Application Injection moulding Blow Moulding Extrusion Pipe and drum heating

We are recognized as one of the trusted Ceramic Band Heater Manufacturers, Exporters and Suppliers from Mumbai (Maharashtra). The Ceramic Band Heaters design consists of a helically wound resistance coil made from 80/20 nichrome wire, evenly stretched and precisely strung through a specially designed ceramic insulating bricks forming a flexible heating mat and its exterior part is coated with stainless steel sheet. Thanks to high conductive ceramic, long service life, fast and simultaneous dispersion of heat is realized by installing chrome-nickel wire properly. Thanks to conservation of heat achieved by ceramic fibres conservation of energy up to 25% to 45% can be obtained. Glass fibre cable and armoured cable whose exterior surface is coated with stainless steel upon request these heaters can be manufactured in special dimensions and values. EXCEL’s Mica Band Heaters are widely used to heat the molds, dies, nozzles and especially to heat the cylinders (barrels) on all types of plastic(s) processing machinery The mica heater is most economic It provides excellent thermal conductivity as heat transfer is by “conduction” Due to its best heat transfer capability, faster heating up & cooling down is possible Maximum sheath temperature upto 480°C (900°F) Maximum watt density = 25 watts/square inches Note: In case where high watt densities are require, it is important that All heaters should be used with appropriate, approved and precise temperature control/sensor device(s) The built in insulation is specially formulated for the excellent heat reflection &performance capabilities The low mass heaters give the best controllability. The lower the thermal mass, lesser time required to deliver the heat to the object to be heated. Due to low mass and high conductivity, the“Polymer Melt” is heated quickly. Resulting autotune function on a control works best. Flexible one or two – piece design makes installation faster & easier . Its flexible construction also allows the heater to be opened to the full diameter of the cylinder The most common square, rectangular and hex-shaped mica heaters can be manufactured as per your specifications in one or two piece units. Available with leads or terminals EXCEL’s exclusive method of designing, maximizes the element wire coverage of the heated area. This results in uniform heat distribution & longer heater life The heater meets progressive requirements of the plastic processors
