Bygging manufactures and rents hydraulic telescopic jacks of 5.6 ton and 6.8 ton capacity suitable to lift upto 2438 mm.  These jacks find use in the erection of bolted or welded tanks for storing water or other bulk liquids or powders.

Single strand jacks up to 25 ton capacity using 18mm diameter H.T. strands are manufactured by Bygging. These jacks find use in lifting of steel flues for chimneys, and to lift horizontal tanks, vessels and de-aerators. Multistrand jacks upto 180 ton lifting capacity are used for boiler drum lifts.  

These jacks come with a “lifting hook” instead of the lifting arm. The hook holds and lifts the tank shell from the bottom edge of the plate. Welding of lifting lugs and fend-off lugs is eliminated and so is the need to test and repair tank shell plates after removing the lugs.  Tanks with shell plates upto 30 mm thick can be erected using this type of equipment. Jacking equipment with lifting hook is denoted by the “H” in the Model code. The tank is lowered down using jacks, to sit on newly erected shell ring leaving root gap as required.  To do this, the jacks are lowered down by about 70 mm.  At this time the lifting hooks will not lower down along with jacks, since their downward movement is obstructed by the new shell ring.  Now one by one, using a crow bar, the shell plate (which is held by the lifting hook) is wedged towards the front (towards inside of the tank) so as to free the lifting hook and allowing the hook to drop onto the jack.

Bygging manufactures and rents hydraulic telescopic jacks of 6.8 ton capacity suitable to lift two shell rings of grain storage silos so that lifting brackets have to be removed after fixing two rings. These jacks are quickly replacing the traditional A-frames with chain blocks in the erection of grain storage silos. Jacks of 9 ton capacity with synchronized lifting mechanism are manufactured to lift dryers.
