It inhibits platelet aggregation and is a direct arterial vasodilator. Its main effects are dilation of the arteries supplying blood to the legs and decreasing platelet coagulation.   Stiloz is used to treat intermittent claudication -- a disease that causes pain in the lower leg when walking. The pain is caused by blocked or narrowed arteries in the legs. Stiloz is a blood-thinning medicine. It prevents special cells in the blood - the platelets - from sticking to each other. This reduces the risk of harmful blood clots forming. Blood clots inside a blood vessel prevent blood from flowing properly and this can cause pain.
