The heat generated by an electromagnetic field melts the heat seal layer and bonds the foil to the mouth of the container The heat also melts the wax which is absorbed by the porous base liner. Upon removal of the cap, the foil is sealed to the neck of the container while the wax-impregnated with the pulp is retained inside the closure for resealing purpose.
