We are well reckoned as the most preeminent Hydraulic Thrustor/Thruster Manufacturer based in India.   Our Crane Electro-Hydraulic Thrustor / Thruster is provided with Clevis-Lug mounting, allowing them to be mounted up to ten degrees either way from the vertical.   All the Rubber surfaces are immersed in Oil, there by requiring very less maintenance.   One outstanding feature of Suni Brand Thrustor, Thruster is that any Mechanical Overloading cannot cause Overloading of the Electric Motor.   If the Load is greater than what the Thrustor Thruster can lift, the Piston will remain at the bottom of the Cylinder and the impeller will rotate harmlessly in Oil.   In the absence of Load the Piston stops at the end of the stroke and the Impeller rotates in the Oil as mentioned above.   Basically Suni� Brand Electro Hydraulic Thrustor Thruster comprises of a Centrifugal Pump Impeller spinning in Oil there by developing a pressure head. Since there is no outlet, delivery port as in case of a Pump, the pressure developed is impressed on the Piston which is directly coupled to the Load to be lifted. Thus a part of the pressure head is expanded in forming a kinetic head required to lift the Load.   At the end of the Lift, either partial or full i e., when the Thrustor,Thruster stalls, it is the full pressure head which is available. Thus the maximum thrust in the stalled position is always higher than the rated thrust.   The Centrifugal Pump Impeller is driven by an Electric Motor the capacity of which depends upon the capacity of the Thrustor,Thruster .For example in case of a 18 kg Thrustor,Thruster the Motor is of 0.1 HP and in case of 34 kg it is 0.17 HP.   The major components of the Suni Brand Electro Hydraulic Thrustor,Thruster are, a Cast Iron cylinder filled with Transformer Oil, with a Aluminum Piston moving freely in it and a Drive Shaft down the center, through the Piston , to the cylinder.   The Impeller draws Oil from above the Piston forcing the Oil beneath the Piston to give it an upward movement in the cylinder with pressure. The pressure is maintained whether the Piston is in motion or has come to a halt at the end of the intermediate position of the upward stroke.   During transportation the Oil is drained out from the Thrustor hence at the time of commissioning the system required quantity of Oil needs to be filled up in the Thrustor. It is advisable to use only fresh Grade transformer Oil.   The quantity of Transformer Oil required to be filled up in the Thrustor,Thruster depends upon the capacity of the Thrustor. Recommended grade of Transformer Oil is BS 148 or equivalent.

Introduction In addition to wide range of applications in mechanical engineering applications, the thruster operated drum brakes are mainly used in material lifting and handling equipment, mainly because their 'Fial-to-safety' designs ensure safety to men and machines in the event of over failure. With the advancement in electricl drives and electronics, the drives have pushed the mechanical systems to high level of operations and demanding safer and reliable braking loads moving at much higher speeds than earlier. Assembly and Function  The two main sub-assemblies of the hydraulic thruster, the electric motor and the hydraulic unit are co-axially assembled form the working unit. In the switched off state (de-energised) the piston is at its lowest position due to external load (as brake spring of the drum brake), and the brake is applied. When energized, the electric motor drives the pump and delivers working fluid under the piston axially in the guided path, and delivers thrust or force required to operate the attached devise (like thruster brake) via the piston rod and the eye-lug attached to it. The working stroke can be steplessly controlled by external load. The thruster is designed for long trouble free service. The motor windings are designed to meet contingencies. Because of its extra-ordinary versatility it has wide applications in electrically driven Hoists, Cranes, Elevators, Ropeways, Flap Valves, Guillotine Machines, Conveyors, Steel Mills, etc. Construction: The STERLING Electro Hydraulic Thrustors consists of a cylinder filled with oil containing the centrifugal pump located at the bottom and electric motor assembled on the top cover. The Rotor Shaft of the Motor is extended vertically downwards in the cylinder and carries an impeller at its lower end. The top bearing of the motors are grease lubricated and the bottom bearing is splash lubricated from oil in the tank. The Thrustor motors are totally enclosed `B’ class insulated, suitable for AC 400/440 Volts, 3 phase, 50 Hz supply. When the motor drives the impeller, it pumps the oil from the upper to the lower side of the piston. In model 47-2040 Thrustor, the whole motor and end shield assembly move up during power stroke. In  all  other  models inside the cylinder, above the impeller is a piston with thrust rods connected by a cross bar which delivers the useful thrust. When the power to the motor is switched off, the impeller stops, oil flows in the reverse direction through the stationery impeller, and the load forces the piston down. The thrustor is not susceptible to mechanical overloads because if external load exceeds the lifting force of the thrustor its piston will remain stationery while the pump will continue to operate building up normal working pressure of the fluid under the piston. This gives rise neither to excessive current in the motor nor to excessive stresses in the thrustor elements.
