Thruster brake is a device to retard the speed of moving machinery and to stop it accurately to the desired position. The braking force is applied to the brake shoe by a pre-stressed compression spring. The shoes press on the rotating brake drum retarding its speed and finally stopping it. The releasing of the brake and compressing of the spring is done by the Thruster. The thruster shoe brake has a pair of cast iron shoes which are lined up with friction pads. The shoes are hinged on the main arm and the side arm of the brake, each of them having a hinge pin fitted in the base.

Electro Hydraulic Thrustor Brake is a heavy duty brake designed to withstand the severe duty conditions imposed by heavy duty machinery in various industries. Electro Hydraulic Thrustor transmits useful thrust through the lever onto the brake shoe thereby releasing the brake. When the power is switched OFF, the brake is smoothly applied because the hydraulic thrust acting against the spring pressure is gradually reduced. Electro Hydraulic Thrustor: It consists of a cylinder filled with oil and having a centrifugal pump at the bottom of the cylinder. The centrifugal pump is driven by a 3phase fractional horse power Class ‘B’ insulated, continuously rated rotor and stator. Specially designed radial impeller permits operation of the pump in either direction of rotation. Thrustor conforming to IP-55 & adjustable time lag on both up & down stroke can be supplied at extra price.
Spring Applied Brakes

In a Spring Applied Brake, when the current is given to the statorbrake coil the armature plate is pulled towards the stator against the applied spring force which releases the rotor. And when the current supplied is turned off, the strong compression springs push the armature back to its position which in turn clamps the rotor and provides the specified braking torque
