Wire Mesh Packing
KEVIN ME-II Wire Mesh Packing has enhanced self-wetting characteristics; as the fiber is woven from fine diameter wires. The packing element consists of parallel-perforated corrugated sheets of wire mesh. These packings are particularly suited in separations that require a large number of separation stages, which typically operate under high vacuum and therefore low liquid loads. The capillary action of the wire mesh ensures complete surface wetting when complemented with high efficiency internals. KEVIN ME-II Wire Mesh Packing is available in following two types:

tower trays
Trays are used in mass transfer operations where pressure drop limitations are not critical. They are mainly used in high-pressure distillation operations. However, there are a few atmospheric, moderate pressure and vacuum operations where trayed towers are used. Trays are availabe in segmental or cartridge type construction to suit customer's requirements. Our design team is well experienced in Tower rating and can select or advise you on the type of tray most suitable for the given conditions. Design of each type of tray is done judiciously by selecting the right type of valve, cap, hole diameter, etc.

Medal-Pak ( formerly sold as Norton's IMTPĀ® ) gives the best of both worlds in terms of performance (i.e. low-pressure drop and high efficiency). It can be effectively used in both high pressure and vacuum towers. Other advantages include large effective interfacial area, high mechanical strength, and low cost. Its monolithic construction overcomes the problem of "opening out " at the ends as can be experienced with ring-shaped packings. Medal-Pak is available in an array of sizes to provide multiple combinations of efficiency and pressure drop. Medal-Pak can be fabricated from a variety of metals including, but not limited to, Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Copper, Aluminum, Titanium and Zirconium.

Support plates in addition to providing physical support to the packings, must also allow unrestricted flow of gas and liquid. Gas injection support plates provide separate passageways for liquid and gas, which minimizes the pressure drop across the plate. Support plate model is selected depending upon the packing type and size and the maximum design load to be supported.

Plastic Super Saddles are used where temperature are less & services is corrosive. Ceramic saddles are used where temperature required are high along with chemical attack resistance these saddles are offered with a glazed construction to enhance the capacity and reduce porosity

Liquid-Liquid Extraction is a Separation process in which a feed stream containing dissolved components is contacted with an immiscible solvent which forms a second liquid phase and selectively extracts the dissolved components from the feed. It is primarily used for services where distillation is not practical, like close boiling point or heat sensitive materials. Packed columns in LLE are used in certain extraction services, such as alcohol washing and contaminant removal from light hydrocarbon. Packed columns are flexible and can handle wide range of feeds and extract to feed ratio. Packed columns are equipped with internals like Disperser PlateDisperser cum Support Plate, Feed pipes for Dispersed and Continuous Phase. Packing promotes, contacting of two phases, as they have to follow tortuous path thru packed bed. It brings both the phases in close contact, maintaining dispersion & preventing short-circuiting.
