It has ranges - 2k and 20k gauss. A built in calibration facility ensures quick check of calibration. All the controls are mounted on the front panel and are clearly designated. An attractive Plastic cabinet with carrying handle cum tilt bracket makes the instrument light in weight and portable LED display gives direct reading with 1 gauss resolution on the 2k range and 10 gauss resolution on the 20k range. The Indicators are oat - operated with a steel target that runs vertically up and down, registering tank contents on a calibrated board that is mounted outside of the tank for quick convenient readings. Mterial of Constructions : The sturdy design and stainless steel construction of the float is resistant to the corrosive effects of petroleum products and assures a long dependable use. In addition to the float assembly, the oat cable, guide wires and Indicator target guide wires are of Stainless Steel. The target assembly and fitting are of galvanized steel. The Gauge board is constructed of aluminium and has bold, legible markings in MM or CM with easy-to-read numerals every MM or CM. Stainless Steel gauges are also available on special order. This NDE method is accomplished by inducing a magnetic field in a ferromagnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron particles (either dry or suspended in liquid). Surface and near-surface flaws produce magnetic poles or distort the magnetic field in such a way that the iron particles are attracted and concentrated. This produces a visible indication of defect on the surface of the material. The images below demonstrate a component before and after inspection using dry magnetic particles.
