Copper Tungsten material produced by Powder Metallurgy wherein sintered skeleton of Tungsten is impregnated with Copper. The erosion pattern of this material is far superior to materials produced by other production techniques. This material maintains quite regular shape under extreme arcing conditions and has only uniform roughening effect without cracks and burn-off droplets.The Tungsten skeleton is protected by impregnated Copper as it provides evaporative cooling effect in extreme arcing conditions, thereby protecting and limiting the temperature rise of the skeleton and preventing disintegration.

The silver and tungsten composite group combines the high thermal and electrical conductivity of silver with the high erosion resistance of the high melting tungsten. These materials are also characterized by their high strength and their resistance to welding or sticking. They are principally made by infiltration and the nominal silver content varies from 20-50%. By increasing the amount of tungsten, the hardness and welding is reduced. This composite group of alloys is specially preferred for use in air.

Electron Beam Welding (EBW) Service, backed up by experienced staff and comprehensive metallurgical facilities. Feasibility and application studies are undertaken to enable potential users to evaluate the suitability of the technique for their products. Small batch production welding is also carried out.

Silver plating can also be done selectively only on functional area as per customers requirement. All facilities under one roof helps in quick delivery of parts ready-to-assemble on the breaker pole.

Contact surface layer and backing metal are bonded metallurgically. This ensures the electrical and mechanical properties of CLADCON are as good as solid contacts. Electrolytic Copper provides better thermal and electrical conductivity than silver alloy and copper shank in CLADCON ensures longer life.With increasing silver prices, lower silver content of CLADCON allows choice of larger contact than with solid silver contact to get better performance.
