Natural Rubber Poly-isoprene is derived from latex liquid extracted from rubber trees. This rubber has excellent mechanical properties, low compression set and high resilience. It also has excellent dynamic and rebound properties. The operating temperature range is from -50° C to + 90° C. It is available in a wide range of hardness from 30° to 80° Shore A. Many of them have good resistance to acids, alkalis and salts. It is not recommended for use in areas where it could come in contact with oils and hydrocarbons. Expansion Joints are used for compensation of pipeline movements and vibrations. Similar to a tyre it has layers of high-quality elastomers reinforced with steel wires and tyre cord nylon. The inner layer forms a tube that extends through the inside of the joint, and across the face of the end flanges. This layer is chemically compatible with regards to its abrasion resistance and temperature rating to the process material. The middle layer of the joint contains tyre cord nylon reinforcement that gives the joint its form and pressure rating, with wires used for added strength.
