Further, a single chain comprises 6 to 24 carbon atoms, wherein 12,14,16,18 and 20 carbon chains are common. When the fatty acid reaches saturation point and the combination of carbon atoms with hydrogen is incomplete there is a possibility of further addition of hydrogen. More the un-saturation lower is the melting point of fatty acid as such, many oils containing un-saturation remains as liquids at normal temperatures. Besides, the ones that contain low amount of un-saturated acids become solid or semi solid fats at normal temperatures.Apart from this, the liquid oil can be converted to a required degree of hardness by reducing its un-saturation with the controlled reaction with hydrogen. Thus, vanaspati is such a product obtained by controlled hydrogenation of edible liquid oils (called 'soft oils' in the industry, this ensures that its hardness, consistency and grainy appearance resemble natural ghee. The addition of hydrogen in oil occurs when the hydrogen gas is brought in contact with the oil at a higher temperature in the presence of metallic nickel catalyst prepared under controlled conditions. The SANGHI-ORG Oxygen Plant is capable of simultaneously producing high purity Oxygen Gas andNitrogen Gas. It also has an internal compression Liquid Oxygen Pump to fill dry gaseous oxygen in cylinders. We also undertake supervision of Installation and Commissioning of the SANGHI-ORG Oxygen Plant. Description of SANGHI-ORG Oxygen Plant The free atmospheric air is sucked in by a multi-stage air compressor through a filter and compressed to the working pressure. After each stage, intermediate coolers and water separators are provided. The compressed air then passes through the (evaporation) pre-cooler and then to the molecular sieve battery where the moisture and carbon dioxide are removed from the process air. It then passes through the exchanger No. 1 where it is cooled by the out-going waste nitrogen and product oxygen. A part of this cold air then flows through an expansion machine and the balance through the 2nd heat exchanger. The ratio of the two air streams is controlled by an expansion valve, RI. Both these streams of air then unite in the lower pressure column where it partially liquefies.   The liquid air (rich air) then passes through the expansion valve R2 to the upper column which is at a lower pressure than the lower column. Similarly the liquid nitrogen (poor liquid) travels from the lower column to the upper column through an expansion valve R3 where the separation of oxygen and nitrogen occurs. Nitrogen being more volatile passes out as a gas from the top of the column and this waste nitrogen flows through both the heat exchangers cooling the in-coming air. Similarly product oxygen is also passed through the two heat exchangers to cool the in-coming air and then to the filling manifold via a liquid pump. If a small amount of air is vented out from the upper column, higher purity nitrogen can also be obtained from this plant. R4 Valve is provided in order to fasten cooling during start-up.

    DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS Nitrous Oxide ( N2O ) is manufactured by thermal decomposition of Ammonium Nitrate.NH4NO3  ---------------------------> N2O   2H2O                                                                                  ( Nitrous Oxide ) ( Water )Ammonium Nitrate is melted and decomposed by reaching to a temperature of approximate 2500C to 2600 C to give a mixture of Nitrous Oxide and super heated steam as per above reaction. At the same time impurities are produced including  Ammonium Nitrate fumes, Nitrogen and Oxide of Nitrogen.  The Steam and impurities are removed by scrubbing in turn with water, caustic soda and finally acid scrubber. From the decomposition pot the hot gas including impurities enters the primary scrubber.  The scrubber is fitted with a small condensing  coil mounted at its top to condense water from part to the effluent gas stream and this water provides a counter-current flow for recovery of ammonium nitrate fumes from the gas.  N2O gas leaving the primary scrubber passes to a stain steel water scrubber for the removal of ammonium nitrate fumes. Finally, the gas passes through a mild steel caustic soda scrubber followed by a fiber glass / stain steel acid scrubber.  The circulation of caustic and water to the respective scrubber is maintained by me of pumps.  The scrubber gas is then allowed to collect in a rubber gasholder ( balloon ).  The gas from the gasholder is sucked by a multi stage water lubricated compressor, which compresses the gas to approx. pressure of  65 kgs/cm2 depending on ambient temperature. The compressed gas passes through a gravity type water separator before being dried in Alumina Drier Battery. Finally Nitrous Oxide in liquid form is collected in a bank of three storage vessels.  The storage vessels are kept cool by spraying chilled water on them. During storage the impure nitrogen gas is being removed by venting out the gas after cooling down the storage vessels.  The pure liquid nitrous oxide is then filled into cinders by weight.  For this, the cinders are to be filled by keeping them on a weighing scale.  Nitrous Oxide is liquefiable gas and is stored in cinders in liquid form only.
