Personnel, who feed the raw materials into the reactors and operate the plant, have to be protected from the poisonous vapors and gases. The emissions from the plant have also to be controlled. As it would be uneconomical to use many absorption systems, the reactors are grouped into two or more groups for the purpose of providing fume extraction systems.
