They comprise thick-walled outer rings with a profiled outside surface and needle roller and cage assemblies or full complement sets of cylindrical or needle rollers. Yoke type track rollers can support high radial loads and axial loads arising from misalignments and skewed running and are suitable for cam drives, slideways, conveying equipment etc. The bearings are available with or without an inner ring as well as in open and sealed versions. Stud type track rollersStud type track rollers comprise thick-walled outer rings with a profiled outside surface, solid roller studs with a locating thread, thrust washers and needel roller and cage assemblies or single or double row full complement sets of cylindrical or needle rollers. They can support high radial loads and axial loads arising from misalignments and skewed running and are suitable for cam drives, slideways, conveying equipment etc. The bearings are available in several designs and with or without an eccentric.
...moreTapered Roller Bearings
Tapered roller bearings comprise solid inner and outer rings with tapered raceways and tapered rollers with cages. The bearings are not self-retaining. As a result, the inner ring together with the rollers and cage can be fitted separately from the outer ring. Tapered roller bearings can support axial loads from one direction as well as high radial loads. They must normally be axially adjusted against a second bearing fitted in a mirror image arrangement.
...moreSpherical Roller Bearings
Spherical roller bearings are double row, self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings with a concave raceway, solid inner rings and barrel rollers with cages. The inner rings are with cylindrical or tapered bores. The symmetrical barrel rollers freely align themselves to the concave outer ring raceway. As a result, shaft deflections and misalignments of the bearing seats are compensated.X-lifeMany sizes of spherical roller bearings are supplied in X-life design. These bearings do not have a central rib on the inner ring so longer barrel rollers can be fitted; improved kinematics, optimised surfaces and even higher performance materials are possible. As a result, the bearings show a significant increase in the basic dynamic load rating and, under the same operating conditions, in the basic rating life. In certain applications, a smaller design of bearing arrangement can therefore be used if necessary.

...moreRadial Insert Ball Bearings
Radial insert ball bearings are single row, ready-to-fit units comprising a solid outer ring, an inner ring extended on one or both sides, cages made from plastic or sheet steel and P, R, L or T seals. Bearings with an inner ring extended on both sides undergo less tilting of the inner ring and therefore run more smoothly. The outer ring has a crowned or cylindrical outside surface. In conjunction with an INA housing matched to the bearing type, bearings with a crowned outside surface compensate for shaft misalignments; see Compensation of misalignments. They are located on the shaft by means of an eccentric locking collar, grub screws in the inner ring, an adapter sleeve, drive slot or fit. Radial insert ball bearings are particularly easy to fit, suitable for drawn shafts of grade h6 to h9 and, with a few exceptions, can be relubricated. Some series with an eccentric locking collar and with grub screws in the inner ring are also available with an inch size bore.

...morePlain Bearings
Plain Bearings GE Series Maintenance-free spherical plain bearings are used where there are particular requirements for operating life or where bearings with a metallic sliding contact surface are not suitable for lubrication reasons, e.g. under unilateral load. Spherical plain bearings allow spatial adjustment movements and, depending on the bearing type (radial, angular contact or axial spherical plain bearing), can support, radial, combined or axial loads. Maintenance-free spherical plain bearings have special sliding layers based on PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). In descending order of performance, these are: ELGOGLIDE® – the highest performance sliding layer PTFE composite PTFE-bronze film. These materials form the slideway of the outer ring or shaft locating washer. They transmit the forces occurring and provide lubrication – the bearings must not be lubricated by any other means.Radial spherical plain bearingsRadial spherical plain bearings comprise inner and outer rings with maintenance-free sliding layers of ELGOGLIDE®, PTFE composite or PTFE-bronze film. They can support slight axial forces as well as radial forces and are suitable for alternating dynamic loads. Sealed spherical plain bearings are protected against contamination and spray water by lip seals. Large spherical plain bearings of d = 320 mm and above belong to the premium grade X-life.Angular contact spherical plain bearingsAngular contact spherical plain bearings comprise inner and outer rings with ELGOGLIDE®. They can support higher axial forces as well as radial forces and are suitable for alternating dynamic loads.Axial spherical plain bearingsAxial spherical plain bearings comprise shaft and housing locating washers with ELGOGLIDE®. ...moreNeedle Roller Bearings
Drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends and with closed end are units comprising thin-walled drawn outer rings and needle roller and cage assemblies. Drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends are also available in full complement versions. The majority of the bearings are single row designs. Drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends and with closed end are available in open and sealed versions. Due to the thin-walled outer drawn cup and the absence of an inner ring, drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends and with close end have an extremely low radial section height. They have very high load carrying capacity, are suitable for high speeds and can be easily fitted. If shoulders, snap rings etc. are not used for axial location, the housing bore can be produced easily and particularly economically.
...moremounting tools
The FAG sets of mounting tools are suitable for cost-effective and safe mounting of rolling bearings with bore diameters of 10 mm to 50 mm or an outside diameter of 26 mm to 110 mm. Sleeves, spacers, seals and similar parts can also be easily mounted by using the EINBAU.SET.ALU and EINBAU.SET.ST (former FAG designation 172013).Tightly fitted inner rings can be driven onto the shaft or outer ring into the housing bore by hitting the mounting sleeve with the hammer. In this way rolling elements and raceways do not transmit the mounting force and become damaged. The perfectly matched precision components insure uniform transmission of the forces onto the facesof the bearing rings. Small rolling bearings with bore diameters of up to about 100 mm which have an interference fit on the shaft or in the housing are usually dismounted by means of mechanical extractors. The bearings can be dismounted without getting damaged if the device is applied at the tightly fitted bearing ring. With FAG mechanical extractors, the extraction force is usually applied by means of threaded spindles. Hydraulic pressure tools make the job easier in some cases. Larger bearings are usually dismounted using the hydraulic method or induction heating devices. In this TI the fields of application and the operation of the FAG mechanical extractors are described. Apart from two-, three- andfour-arm extractors and a hydraulic pressure tool, special extractors are described.
...moreMonorail Guidance Systems
INA monorail guidance systems are compact linear guidance systems with high rigidity and load carrying capacity, supplied in complete form as standard and based on either rollers or balls. These guidance systems can support loads from all directions – apart from the direction of motion – and moments about all axes. They are available in various accuracy and preload classes and are therefore suitable for applications with high guidance and positioning requirements. Monorail guidance systems are part of a modular concept, i.e. within one size, guideways can be combined with all carriage types. This means more economical stockholding, simplified fitting and more rapid replacement parts sourcing. In order to reduce maintenance costs, monorail guidance systems have a lubricant reservoir. All-round sealing of the carriages protects the rolling element systems from contamination even under demanding environmental conditions.

...moreLaser Alignment
Alignment of belt drives and chain drives for greater cost effectiveness. The top laser SMARTY is a cost effective measuring instrument for aligning belt pulleys and chain wheels. SMARTY can make your preventive maintenance far easier. Alignment with SMARTY means “good vibrations” since their levels are low and wear suffered by belts, belt pulleys, bearings and seals is far less. This means a longer service life and greater reliability of machines and plants, lower energy cost and, all in all, greater cost effectiveness. Features & Advantages: Shows parallel and angular misalignment between the two pulleys. Works considerably faster and more accurately than conventional methods. Suitable both for horizontally and vertically mounted machines. Alignment can be done by a single operator. System is also suitable for nonmagnetic wheels or pulleys.
...moreInduction Heater
Correct mounting helps timely prevention of damage Many rolling bearings and other rotationally symmetric steel parts are tightly fitted onto the shaft. Larger parts in particular, can be fitted more easily if they are pre-heated (rolling bearings up to a maximum of 120 °C). The Benefits: Energy efficient, clean and environmentally friendly (no oil, and therefore no disposal cost) Extremely cost effective Work pieces positioned horizontally save approx. 50% of time, due to increased efficiency Reduced mounting times Easier operation Demagnetised and stress-relieved work pieces Highly adaptable as several different ledges can be used with the apparatus No maintenance costs Micro processor controlled Protective gloves and magnetic feeler included Three years guarantee FAG PowerTherm HEATERs Heat parts uniformly and prevent harmful temperature differences Work faster and are cleaner than traditional heating methods Heat parts (micro processor controlled) to the selected temperature Demagnetise rolling bearing steels automatically Induction heating is superior to traditional methods – fast, clean – ideal for batch mounting. Complete bearings, rings of cylindrical roller bearings or needle roller bearings, as well as other rotationally symmetric steel parts such as labyrinth rings, roll couplings, tyres, etc. can be heated. The heart of the induction HEATER is a current carrying coil with an iron core (primary coil), that generates a high induction current at a low voltage, in a short-circuited secondary circuit (rolling bearings, other steel components). The part for mounting is heated quickly; whilst non-metallic parts and the device itself remain cool.
...moreFull Complement Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Full complement cylindrical roller bearings have solid inner and outer rings and rib-guided cylindrical rollers. Since these bearings have the largest possible number of rolling elements, they have extremely high radial load carrying capacity, high rigidity and are suitable for particularly compact designs. Due to their kinematical conditions, however, they cannot achieve the high speeds that are possible when using cylindrical roller bearings with cage. Full complement cylindrical roller bearings are available as non-locating, semi-locating and locating bearings and in single and double row designs.X-lifeMany sizes are supplied in X-life design. These bearings are indicated in the dimension tables. Bearings of X-life quality have a lower roughness Ra and superior geometrical accuracy of the raceways than comparable designs that are not X-life. As a result, the load carrying capacity and life of these bearings is higher while maintaining the same dimensions. In certain applications, a smaller design of bearing arrangement can therefore be used if necessary.
...moreDeep Groove Ball Bearings
eep groove ball bearings are versatile, self-retaining bearings with solid outer rings, inner rings and ball and cage assemblies. These products are of simple design, durable in operation and easy to maintain; they are available in single and double row designs and in open and sealed variants. Due to the production technology used, open bearings can still have turned recesses on the outer ring for seals or shields.Due to their low frictional torque, they are suitable for high speeds.
...moreCylindrical Roller Bearings
Single row cylindrical roller bearings with cage are units comprising solid inner and outer rings together with cylindrical roller and cage assemblies. The outer rings have rigid ribs on both sides or are without ribs; the inner rings have one or two rigid ribs or are designed without ribs. The cage prevents the cylindrical rollers coming into contact with each other during rolling. The cylindrical roller bearings are very rigid, can support high radial loads and, due to the cage, are suitable for higher speeds than the full complement designs. Bearings with suffix E have a larger roller set and are thus designed for extremely high load carrying capacity. The bearings can be taken apart and can therefore be fitted and dismantled more easily. Both bearing rings can therefore have an interference fit. Single row cylindrical roller bearings with cage are available as non-locating, semi-locating and locating bearings.X-lifeMany sizes are supplied in X-life design.Bearings of X-life quality have a lower roughness Ra and superior geometrical accuracy of the raceways than comparable designs that are not X-life. As a result, the load carrying capacity and life of these bearings is higher while maintaining the same dimensions. In certain applications, a smaller design of bearing arrangement can therefore be used if necessary.

...moreBearing Grease
More than 80% of all roller bearings are lubricated with grease. Inadequate lubrication causes more than 40% of all roller bearing damage. The service life of a roller bearing is to a high degree dependent on the grease employed In cooperation with renowned lubricant manufacturers we have for many years developed lubricating greases that are particularly suitable for roller bearings. However, before a new grease is included in the Arcanol program, it has to pass a series of stringent tests. On our lubricant test rigs in our own lubricant lab we test the greases for our clients in roller bearings to find out how they improve service life and reduce friction and wear. Only the best greases are then subjected to the following tests under field conditions in far more complicated roller bearing test rigs. In addition, we test every single batch to ensure the uniform quality of the product and whether it meets our high demands on quality. Our program consists of fourteen greases, which optimally cover nearly all fields of application. Apart from universal greases you will also find special greases. The labeling already identifies universal grease or special grease, designed to meet specific operating conditions such as high load, high rotational speed or high temperature.
