The Solar Dual Pump is an innovative pump devised to utilize the power of the sun during the day and act as a normal hand pump when the solar energy is not available, hence assuring uninterrupted water supply. The system consists of a submersible pump which runs on power generated from the photovoltaic solar cells and is suitable for use on bore wells with 100 mm (and above} diameter up to 80-90m depth. In practice a solar array is installed near the bore well. A submersible pump powered with DC motor is installed below the hand pump cylinder. The pump is connected to a storage tank and the collected water is dispensed through a stand post. This system can also be used on other water sources such as open wells or tanks. This is a 24*7 sustainable water supply solution for rural sector. The solar pumping system is very simple in design and easy to operate. It needs no rigorous preventive maintenance. Electronics & Protections: - Inbuilt maximum power point tracker (MPPT) to increase water discharge rate. Circuit breaker, under & over voltage safety. Tank water lever sensor. Dry run safety sensor.    Salient Feature: - The system used to provide 24/7 piped water supply in remote villages where grid power is not available. The water can be pumped from water source to the overhead tank for distribution. System can provide tap connections to individual houses. The submersible pump is operated directly on electricity generated by the solar array. No batteries required for power storage hence low capital cost. Even when the solar power is not available during cloudy days the user can operate hand pump to draw water.   Following are few steps to operate and maintain the system smoothly: - Keep the surrounding of pump and stand post clean. Keep the drain of Hand Pump and stand post clean. The pump should be operated only by the trained user. Unauthorized person should not attain any repair of solar dual pump.Pump operation is automatic i.e. it starts and stops as per condition of water level in the tank.Pump, Solar array, lightening arrestor should have proper earthing to dedicated earthing arrangement.In case automatic switch is not operative, put the system on manual mode and operate it through switch provided on the controller. If the taps of stand post are leaking due to sand particles or other foreign particles on rubber seal, then open & close tap continuously for 3 min and flush the foreign material. Stop the leakages in pipes, if any, or if it is not possible to attend repairs locally, report it to the company.
