The slit type is perfectly arrogated for many applications where cost is a major consideration. The envelope in this variety does not present a full face to the flange. Solid gaskets can be made to order in different types of shapes and sizes. Size : PTFE Envelope is available in 12mm onwards and the 0.5mm flap thickness.PTFE Solid gaskets are available from 12mm on wards and 1mm, 2mm & 3mm in thickness.

Ring type are use to seal flanged connections subject to high pressures and temperatures. These precision made solid metal gaskets form a metal to metal seal with the flanges. The gasket cross-sections are designed to concentrate the bolt load over a small area to produce a high seating stress. The gasket metal should always be softer than the mating flanges. The high seating stress causes 'plastic-flow' of the gasket into the flange faces to create seal. The 'rx' and 'bx' gaskets are designed to be pressure activated by the sealed media which improves the efficency of the seal as the internal pressure of the system increases. 'r' series ring type joints can contain pressure up to 10,000 psi 'rx' and 'bx' series ring type joints can contain pressure up to 20,000 psi the gasket and flanges must be manufactured to precision dimensions, surface and hardness.

The average diameter of the gasket is slightly larger than the average diameter of the gasket groove and angle between ring gasket and bevel face of gasket groove is around 23. It has good sealing and is pressed tightly to keep good performance. The oval ring gasket is installed inside the ring joint groove of flange face. When the connecting bolt is fastened, it is compressed in axis direction and is pressed close to the upper and lower ring joint grooves thus resulting in the plastic deformation to create the seal. The ring gasket expands in radial direction under the force of media pressure after pressure is raised.
