316L is a stainless steel alloy with a low carbon content that is used in a variety of industries and applications:  Properties316L is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel with high chromium and nickel content. It has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments, and is also resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. 316L is also tough, even at low temperatures.  Uses316L is used in many industries, including chemical, petrochemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, and medical. It's also used in jewelry, luxury watches, potable water piping, wastewater treatment, and marine applications.  Composition Table 1. Composition ranges for 316L stainless steel.
