Conformance to Standards : All motors comply with the following Indian and international standards:     Salient features of TEFC Standard Motors:❖ BBL motors can be continuously overloaded by 10% or can be used up to ambient temperature of 55°C. For the Indian Navy as per the Naval Specification EED-Q-071 BBL manufactures special Shock Grade motors for the Indian Navy as per the Naval Specification EED-Q-071. These motors are designed to withstand shock levels up to 320G in all three axis.

Rotomotive asynchronous three phase Delphi series motors are built with dimensional conformance to Indian Standard IS:1231, IS:2223 & International standard IEC 71-1.The mounting positions as per IS:2253 and IEC 34-7 are B3, B5, B14 and B35.Rotomotive motors are totally enclosed and fan cooled. Non standard versions in TENV construction are also available on request.The frame size upto 132 are made from light weight die cast aluminium alloy and from size 160 upto 355 frame and end-covers are made from cast iron.   Energy Efficient EFF1/EFF2 MotorsDelphi series energy efficient asynchronous squirrel cage induction motors with EFF2/ EFF1 efficiencies are manufactured conforming to lS:1 261 5-2004. The enclosures, mounting and voltage supply conditions and tolerances are similarfor both EFF2 & EFF1 motors.EFF1 motors can be easily recognized by name plate & RAL5007 blue colour on terminal box cover in 71 -1 32 frame size & RAL9006 silver colour on terminal box cover in 160frame For EFF1 motors nearly uniform efficiency from 60% to 1 00% of rated load   Energy Efficient IE2 & IE3 MotorsDelphi series energy efficient asynchronous squirrel cage induction motors - high efficiency IE2 & premium efficiency IE3 are manufactured conforming to IEC-60034-30.The enclosures, mounting and voltage supply conditions and tolerances are similar to Delphi Series EFF2 motors. IE-2 motors can be easily recognized by name plate & RAL5007 blue colour on terminal box cover in 80-1 32 frame size & RAL9006 silver colour on terminal box cover in 160 & above frame size.IE-3 motors can be easily recognized by name plate & black colour on terminal box cover in 80-1 32 frame size.Rotomotive asynchronous three phase Delphi series motors are built with dimensional conformance to Indian Standard IS: 1231, IS:2223 & International standard IEC 71-1.

BBL manufactures special Auxiliary motors and blowers for the Locomotives of the Indian railways. The motors are suitable for operation on a supply with 5% Unbalance in the three phases and with voltage variation from 290 V to 500 V.   BBL supplies motors for the following equipment used on the loco1. Compressor ( 1000 LPM as well as 2000 LPM) 2. Traction Motor cooling blower 3. Transformer Oil cooling blower 4. Exhauster  BBL also supplies the complete blower for the Traction motor cooling as well as the Transformer Oil cooling application for both the conventional as well as the latest Three Phase locos.

These motors can be used in Zone 2 areas as per IS 5572 / IEC 60079-7:2001   Salient features of TEFC Standard Motors :   Terminals and Connection :❖ External connections of client's power cable to the motor terminals in terminal box must be rigidly gripped and secured against loosening and twisting. This is achieved with the help of a specially designed Terminal Plate provided in the Terminal Box. Terminal Box :❖ The motors in frame size 63 to 80, 180, 250 to -355 are provided with terminal box on top. Side T Box can be provided on request in frame sizes 180 and above. The terminal box for frame size 90S to 160L is fitted on the right hand side, seen from the driving end. Terminal box on left-hand side can also be provided in frame size 90S to 160Lon request. An earthing terminal is provided in the Terminal Box.❖ Terminal Boxes in frame sizes 63 to 355L can be rotated through 360° in steps to 90° to suit the cable location. Air-gap : Radial air-gap of the motors is such that the minimum air gap values specified in IS: 6381 are fully satisfied Enclosure : ❖ AIncreased Safety Motors have a degree of protection IP55 in accordance with IS: 4691 as a standard feature. In addition, all flange motors (B5 and B14) have Oil Tight Shaft (OTS) protection. ❖ Motors with V1, V5 and V18 mountings are provided with a canopy fitted on the top of the fan cowl Winding and Rotor Cage : ❖ The stator winding and rotor cage are so designed that the limiting temperature specified in IS: 6381 are not exceeded even at the end of time tE. Name Plate : ❖ Stainless steel name plate is provided with each motor. Over and above the normal name plate details, other data such as time tE, starting current, temperature-Class, type of protection, approval certification etc. are also provided. Paint : ❖ Acid Alkali Proof epoxy paint is provided on all motors. Certification : ❖ ME motors are approved by PESO, Nagpur. A declaration to this effect is incorporated on the name plate.

  Delphi ATDC/ATAC/AT24 MotorsDelphi ATDC/ATAC/AT24 series self-braking motors use spring pressure brakes, firmly affixed on to a cast iron shield fixed on the non-driving end of the motor. The mounting and voltage supply conditions and tolerances are similar to Delphi Series EFF2 motors. Delphi AT24 series motors are brake with 24V DC input type which can be operated through an inverter (usually having a 24Vdc port).The brakes used in Delphi AT series are of electromagnetic type and normally OFF i.e. the braking action occurs in the absence of power supply.

Crane Duty MotorsDelphi CR series motors are compact asynchronous squirrel cage induction motors specially designed for use in cranes and hoists. The enclosures, mounting and voltage supply conditions are similar to Delphi Series EFF2 motors.These motors can be supplied with integral fail safe D.C. Brakes, with built in rectifiers. Brakes of 24 Volts for direct use with VFD drives and AC brakes are also available.

BBL manufactures Squirrel Cage Crane and Hoist Duty Motors with Type 'MC'. These motors are generally one frame size smaller than normal. These motors are not limited to cranes and hoists, but can also be used in applications requiring frequent switching.   Standard 'MC' motors are designed for use for S3, S4 or S5 duty with various Cyclic Duration Factors (CDF). These motors can be offered in various types of mountings and are made with standard 'MA' components. i.e. body, end shields etc.

  BBL manufactures TEFC three phase DC Brake Motors with Type 'MB'. These motors are used for applications requiring positive and instantaneous braking. These motors are 'fail safe', which means that the brake will be applied immediately in case the power supply fails or is switched off. These motors have a built in rectifier along with a varistor for protecting the rectifier as well as the brake coil from voltage surges. The special brake liner used assures consistent braking torque with minimum wear. This leads to almost maintenance free operation. These motors can be offered in various types of mounting. BBL manufactures these motors in frame sizes from 71 to 132M in 2, 4, 6 and 8 pole. Multi speed brake motors can also be supplied. Motors from 90S to 132M can also be supplied with a manual release arrangement to manually release the brake.   Brake motors are offered for various application requiring almost instantaneous stopping if driven with load. These motors are offered in frame size 71 to 132. Their operation is of “fail safe” type, i.e., the brake applied when, power to the motor is switched off, or, if power failure occurs.
